The church is very close to the beach. It's has a tall brass coated flag post and an open ground in the front, facing west. It has a one of a kind old-time ship shipped grotto. The premises also has a school, Red Cross, NCC and Police Cadets wing. It's the premier church after Arthungal while travelling South via the beach road.

There was an interesting history is hiding in thumboli church. The lord Mary in thumboli is powerful . The night view of thumboli church is exciting . The thumboli beach is very near to the church .
