Thalap is a fantastic place to be. You are within the city limit and you will never feel that because of lush green surroundings and low traffic noises. The housing colonies and shopping places are great. You got to see best theatre, hospitals, shopping place, temples, church, mosques and play grounds. People can visit best restaurants and tea shops available in talap. Almost all the important schools are located in talap. Talap is the best place to be in a city and away from city rush.

It's not a bus stand, but a stinking hole. Scary even in the daytime.n**Karntaka RTC (Cannanore BS) Sleeper, Airavat, Rajahamsa, Sarige; Kerala RTC Super Deluxe, Super Express buses to Bangalore, Mysore operate/start from Caltex KSRTC Depot, NOT FROM here or New Thavakara BS.

Food options are limited at the old bus station of Kannur. This facility is almost abandoned with crumpling buildings and lack of facilities. Still there are eateries like the Acquaris Vegetarian and the India House restaurant. There is a period building called Prakash Restaurant right opposite the bus station building. There are many bakeries here and best appears to be Kumars Confectionary on the opposite side of the road.
