An unknown and unexplored place just a while ago for the kottayam town. New tourism development projects were recently announced to make it as a tourist destination. Currently you need to walk a bit to reach there through the sidewalks of the canals or you need to take a boat ride from the karimbumkalapady junction. Getting there won't easy with families and kids if you choose to walk. But the long strech of walking trail is endless and it is a very beautiful experience. Its said that you can reach somewhere near Muhamma near Alappuzha town if you continue walking through this trail. The light house was made in the past for helping the merchant boats and vessels sailing from Alappuzha to kottayam town.

Lighthouse named as Munroe lighthouse built in 1874, 35 feet height for enroute to boats coming thru Vembanad lake.
