Well maintained place which is known as residence of Peshwa Bajirao II...
Aniket Yadav (07/24/2020)
It was luxurious residence of Peshwa Bajirao II, the last Peshwa of Maratha confederacy. It was built in 1807 AD at the price of Rs. 2,00,000. It took 6 years to complete the construction. Bajirao II preferred this residence to the ill-fated Shaniwar Wada, the citadel of the Peshwas. Bajirao II stayed here for 11 years until his defeat in the Third Anglo-Maratha War.nThe 20,000 sq. ft. wada presently houses a post office on its ground floor, a few other offices of the municipal corporation and a small museum of Maratha artefacts put together by noted Maratha historian.

Located amidst honking bustling traffic at the intersection of Bajirao Road and Laxmi road of Sadashiv Peth, the Vishram-Baug Wada is a historic Peshwa mansion. Most of the parts of the palace are intact and can be seen on both the floors.

Great place within city core. Beautiful traditional Architecture. But sad to see not well maintained at all. We are losing the architectural monuments and history of Pune
