Patiala School for the Deaf, Patiala School for the Blind and Patiala School for the DeafBlind is being run by Society for the welfare of the Handicapped ( Regd 1967).nThe school was started in 1967 inside Patiala city, next to Amar Ashram, near Polo Ground and moved to this new campus about 10 years ago.nThese schools offer special residential education to over 350 deaf, blind and deafblind children from class 1 to class 12.nThe school has a well built up academic block, boys and girls hostel, a dining hall, a well equipped kitchen and a guest hoise.nThese schools are run as a NGO and no fees of any kind is charged from any of the students.nAll facilities like education, lodging and boarding in the hostel, food, stationary, uniform, medical facilities, vocational training etc etc are provided absolutely free of cost.nThe school for Deaf, Blind and DeafBlind have separate academics block for teaching these special kids as per world class standards.nA visit to this institution is a must and an experiences of it's own kind.
