Definitely my best restaurant in Houston. Let's say a boutique restaurant to feel relaxed and confortable with very limited seats inside and incredible patio. The ambiance is just amazing: feeling to be in old Paris restaurant (france) street. Incredible service with just enough (but not much) french accent. Over the top food and I can tell everything is made in house. Wonderful service: just taking care of us with he proper way but not too much to have the feeling they want us to order more. I enjoyed this 2 hours (french style) lunch with my friends. Only recommandation: reserve your table

Don’t come unless you’re willing to pay up. Wait staff and service were all great, don’t get me wrong! But, when my friend and I arrived, we were, without warning, inducted into a dining experience without a price tag. If you are okay with paying $55 per person, not including the tip, for 2 cups of tea, a shot glass of soup, some finger-sized sandwiches and small French pastries for the experience, then by all means, please enjoy. The food was truly delicious, and the cafe does know how to make a great experience. But, if you are not this person, then do not be surprised by the large bill. You have been forewarned.

I’m so sad to write the review because the first time I came here I loved it and was excited to go back. However, my friend and I came to have tea and the woman working there (owner?) was EXTREMELY RUDE! As soon as my friend and I walked in, she aggressively asked us if we planned to eat while we were there and when we said a quick visit and just tea she snapped. She said “this is not a coffee shop! If you’re not eating then you must take your tea to go!” I was literally in shock and was so embarrassed because I had just raved to my friend about how cute the place was. Keep in mind- there was barely anyone there!!! Like the place had plenty of tables both inside and outside! And actually we would have ordered a dessert but we didn’t even get to look at the menu!!!!!! I was horrified and never felt so low. Even restaurants will allow you to just order tea. I will never return and I recommend thinking twice before you go to this place.. the food wasn’t even good from what I remember from my last visit.

A lovely French cafe in the heart of Houston. I love coming here for a casual weekend lunch with my friends. The patio seating is lovely - some is shaded - and there’s also a small inside too. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried - the menu changes frequently to keep things seasonal and exciting.

Poêtes is so cute ! It's no longer a Cafe and more of a restaurant so I was upset I was unable to get the chocolate croissant that I was craving but the latte was good. Might need to reconsider the name of the restaurant to manage expectations. Will be back for what looked like an awesome brunch menu.
