Texas State Cemetery

We visited the Texas State Cemetery when we were in Austin for our anniversary (weird place to go during such a trip, I know), but this was a short walk from our hotel. It was well worth it because this state cemetery is beautifully maintained and a nice bit of history to check out. Definitely check this out if you are on the east side of town!

One of the prettiest places in Austin. Yes, it’s a cemetery, but as pretty as any park. It’s peaceful and lovely to sit for a minute.

For a plot of land to symbolize death, this particular cemetery gives a more tranquility beauty instead. Trees, Flower gardens, and a stream that moves throughout the land. From soldiers of the Texas revolution, Civil War, the world wars, and beyond, to famous politicians, and other key figures of Texas history are interred in this place. It is a place to talk a walk and to pay your respects towards these folks long passed.
