The foundation stone of St. Stephen's Church was laid on 1844 by the Governor-General along with the Venerable Archdeacon and Rev. Thomas and was opened to public after two years. Housed in a small compound with lush green grass it serves as an abode of yranquility in one of Kolkata’s most hustle bustle areas. One can approach from Diamond Harbour Road just after the crossing of Khidirpur.
