One of the cleanest church in Kolkata. Present on the way to Mullickbazar after moulali crossing. Buses available 230,ganganagar-bantala(kb21), dej medical howrah station, 202, 227 bangur bnr,etc. Roads are fairly clean and good.

Google has given wrong timings. Absolute correct timings given here. I personally visited & confirmed. Note that. Very old church..... good maintained...... heritage of Calcutta..... place for peace and worship to almighty God.....i just love the place.... perfect place for meditation....I go there to purchase some books... because Christian book fair 2019 organized by Bible society of India...

St. James' Church in Kolkata, India, is one of Kolkata's most elegant churches. Built in 1862. the twin spires of the St. James' Church dominates Kolkata's skyline. It is popularly known as Jora Girja, literally meaning twin church for its twin spires. The present church was built to replace an older one of the same name which was situated in Nebutolla Lane, near Amherst Street. This earlier church, built very much after the style and plan of St. Thomas’ Church, Free School Street, was consecrated by Bishop Reginald Heber on 12 November 1829. It appears to have fallen into a state of disrepair, due chiefly to white ants having eaten into the beams, and was declared unsafe for divine worship.
