It's meant for burial of bodies of dead people of catholic faith and belonging to the parishes of K Pudur Lourdes Shrine and Bibikulam Sahaya Annai Church in Madurai. The graveyard is under the control of the Parish Priest of K Pudur Lourdes Shrine. The administration of the graveyard is looked after by a council of people nominated to do such activities. The place is getting filled with memorial graves of the faithful. On November 2nd, the All souls day, being the feast of souls, many people used to come for praying at the graves of their relatives.
