Bella's Cafe

Girlfriend and I came right at the end of service last ThursdaynnCute little cafe, couple of seats, and since we just wanted a sweet treat, we split a banana foster French toast -- amazing and delicious. Not too sweet, came out incredibly warm, with the toast being soft and rich. Would recommend that specificallynnOur server was super nice as well and we were good to trust her recommendation, made conversation with some of the tables as we were some of the last that they were serving that day

This was a hidden gem! I have never been here before but that was delicious. The food was unique and very tasty. It can be a long wait but definitely worth the wait.

Let me start by saying I have been a Customer for years at Bella’s. I would have never ever thought that I would be treated so badly here. The customer service was awful from beginning to end. For starters the hostess (Nia) had a bad attitude, when I first arrived to put my name on the list she indicated that the wait would be about 20 minutes. Okay that’s fine as she wrote my name in, there was only one party ahead of me. So time goes by and I see people who were not there just coming in and getting seated. With that said yes maybe there more people on another list nevertheless then be honest about the wait time and let the customer decide if we want to wait or not. Now we get called in to be seated. Our waiter advised us that they ran out of what we ordered so obviously we have to look at the menu again in which he became upset really! So he proceeded to take our order not once looking at us and rushing us as if it was our fault the cafe ran out of what we wanted to order. Then he came back and said that he had (2) of what we wanted. Okay so now one person has to look to see what they wanted, once again he shows how upset he became. He acted like it was our fault they didn’t have it together at all. Now it’s time for the bill... he comes to the table blurting out what my bill is. I thought you were supposed to be presented with a bill? Trust me if I was alone I would not be leaving a tip at all. It’s like rewarding bad behavior. Well I won’t be going back there because I do not pay to be mistreated. And I will be passing my experience on the the many family members, friends and hundreds of coworkers that have sent them throughout the years!

The best place to get breakfast in New Haven!! Charming, friendly, and inviting. The food is perfectly portioned, fresh, and well prepared. Classy comfort food in the heart of Westville. A must try for anyone in the area, I can’t say enough good things about this place!

The food was incredible and the atmosphere is very cute and cozy. We started with their chai lattes and pumpkin spice donuts (crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside). I ordered the holiday French toast (made with panetone), and my boyfriend got the corn beef hash. The corn beef hash looked nothing like your typical canned dog food, and if every restaurant prepared it this way, I’d totally convert to a fan. The side of roasted potatoes were especially fantastic (came with both dishes). We would drive another 2h just to eat there again!
