Wasif Manzil was built by Nawab Wasif Ali Mirza Khan under the direction and supervision of Mr. Vivian, officer of the Public Works Department of the Nadia Rivers Division and Surendra Barat, a Bengali engineer. This building, rather palace was used by the Nawab as his residence.

Another historical attraction for tourists... This WASIF ALI MANZIL also known as NEW PALACE.... It's situated on the bank of river Hooghly... Nawab used this building as his residence rather than the palace... This place is extremely close (Only 500 metre away) to Hazarduari palace... A small garden space is there which has a fountain & several marble Statues... They don't give permission to enter inside the building... It's 1.8 km (approx.) away from Hazarduari railway station or nearly 200 km from Kolkata, West Bengal.
