Jagat Seth was a Bengali wealthy businessman and banker during the reign of Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah. The house resides at Kathgola in Murshidabad. The palace is mesmerizingly big and it has been spread over a vast arcre of land. Inside the premises, there rests other vintage mansions and myriads of various categories of places to see. There are also profuse of artefacts alongwith with precious medivial items are located inside the palace and the mansions which would left one with awe. Nevertheless, he was called as a traitor who financed British during the Battle of Plassey, which resulted in the death of Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah. However, it is enveloped with rich enchantic history and astonishing medivial items and artefacts which makes it a must visit place and a popular historic tourist destination. Thank you.

Jaget Seth was a title conferred by the Nawab of Bengal and can be interpreted as "banker or merchant of the world".House of Jagat Seth Museum contains personal possessions of Jagat Seth and his family including coins of the bygone era, muslin and other extravagant clothes, Banarasi sarees embroidered with gold and silver threads. Jagat Seth, also the title for the powerful moneylender family he belonged to, looked after the mint and treasury accounts of Bengal during the Nawabi period. He played a key role in the conspiracy involving the imprisonment and ultimate killing of Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah. His house, replete with a secret tunnel as well as an underground chamber, where illegal trade plans were hatched, is what has been converted into the aforementioned museum. Source: Wikipedia.

Jagat Seth's house, replete with a secret underground tunnel as well as an underground secret chamber, where illegal trade plans (including the conspiracy involving the imprisonment and ultimate killing of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah) were hatched at that time, is what has been converted into the museum now... The place is about 3 km from Hazarduari palace... Or approximately 4.4 km from Murshidabad railway station....
