A bit out of the way, but DEFINITELY worth it. Sites well shaded and the folks who run it are wonderful. Made us feel right at home. Bath house spotless. Near river if you like that. Also a livery for canoes. Full hook up available and I got my 41’ RV and 22’ trailer on site without in hooking (I do well at backing up though.). Very faint Highway noise, not a problem whatsoever. If you stay here, pick a spot near the office. Some of the lower river bank sites have long-termers and are trashy and in need of some care. Love this place and we’ll be back.

Good family owned place. Clean and quiet. Mostly long term folks. Awesome river access. Kids areas could use a little updating but not too bad. Sites are not the largest but well laid out and level.

Amazing location with awesome tubing and kayaking. Definitely an old campground ran by a grumpy old man. Thankfully other staff members compensated for his delightful personality. Restrooms and showers were very run down and very nasty.

This campground was amazing!! Our kids had the time of their life . I seen the reviews that said bad things and we were nervous , but honest to God they were extremely friendly and fun!!! We will definitely be coming back next summer!!!

We made reservations less than a week in advance and were happy to get a site. This campground is in a beautiful setting - nicely wooded and “off the beaten path.” Our site was right on the Thornapple River. Having no electricity was not a big deal. On the down side, the sites are extremely small. Most of the other campers are very loud - nearly yelling to one another, playing their music as if everyone wants to hear it, and the children are not well supervised at the playground or swimming pond. Being prohibited from bringing firewood from outside, we as well as the campers on either side of us were sold too-freshly cut wood that was extremely difficult to ignite. While we appreciated being able to launch our kayaks right at our campsite, we will not return to this campground.
