I really enjoyed this place for primitive camping! They have dumpsters and restrooms which was very nice. You can enter the park anytime after 5:30pm as long as you’re paying with card. It was $14.00 a day I believe for primitive. If you’re paying cash, make sure you are there before 5:30pm. We were right by the water and loved it here. They have plenty of spots to camp, whether you’d like to be by water or not. Definitely will be returning!

Great State Park camp ground. Water and electric hook ups and 2 dump stations. Fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Nice hiking trails.

The grounds seemed to be well maintained. We went for a quick trip to check out RV spots. We camped there in the early 2000s with a pop-up and really enjoyed the activities and scenery. We are looking forward to trying it again with our travel trailer.

Louisiana is a beautiful state, period, but if you want proof for yourself, come enjoy the drive and check this out. Regardless if you love to fish or just the great outdoors, you'll be in heaven!
