Nice local campground great for getting away for a quick, easy trip. The electrical hookups are nice, the sites are well maintained, the restrooms are always clean and the playground is great for kids. We love to take the trails around for exploring. There isn't much in the way of shade at the sites, so definitely bring your own, but the views when the sun comes up or goes down are gorgeous. Big Soda Lake is great when it's not crowded. Sometimes it gets so busy you can't even see the lake from the shore, skip it then. You can also go horseback riding at the stables here too. The quick one hour tour was great! We also really like the archery range. Lots to do here depending on what you're interested in!

It's surprisingly quiet for a campground that's essentially next to a major highway. The campsites are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're in a sardine park, and the view of the city is mostly blocked by the flood control dams. There are hiking and bike paths in the park, and you're also close to several MTB trails outside the park. Red Rocks is very nearby if concerts are your thing. The only reason for 4 stars is that not all campsites have water, so you'll need to fill before you get here or use their fill station which is pretty slow. Overall I would recommend staying here if you're looking for something near the city that feels like it's not in the city.

Loved this campground! It was my first camping experience. The grounds were very clean, lots of outdoor activities to do on site, and very quiet/ private. Only complaint is that we had to pay for showers ($1.75) and didn’t see that advertised on the website. Other than that, can’t complain!

Stayed in an RV. Beautiful spot to camp with lots of grass and hills around. Not full hookups but there’s a shared dump and water station. We saw a guy dump his toddlers poop right in the grass, which was super gross. Otherwise, good spot!!
