OYO 28230 Hotel Kalash

Been there with my family ...would recommend anyone to go for the deluxe 3X room as it has one of the most beautiful views overlooking the Mela Ground and Tibetan church. This establishment is conveniently located on Rishi Rd, the main road of the town with an ATM just opposite the street. Love the atmosphere and community although I must admit the shops on the main road are tourist traps. Venturing further away you will eventually find places which are well hidden away. Here the locals eat and their food is excellent . I did order food in the hotel and I'll just say it's ok. The momos were delightful but the idlis were cold and hard to the touch. The guy in the reception was very kind and generous. Room service was an issue because nobody was turning up. Nevertheless I had an enjoyable stay and would love to visit this town again.

Good place to stay when visiting kalimpong. Neat and clean rooms. But room service is very bad. No one responses quickly. You have to ask for 4 or 5 times for having something done. Although the manager who work here at morning time is very helpful. But never book this hotel or any hotel in kalimpong through oyo app. They already break their tie ups with oyo. Even if you pay the amount to stay at any hotel in kalimpong through oyo, you will not get any room here. Be careful. Thanks.

We had done our booking through OYO. As per location, the hotel is located right behind the Kalimpong bus stand, thus making it easier to communicate to different parts of the town. The hotel was a decent one. We were given a room right beside the hotel reception. But the hotel room does not have any fan or AC either, when it was quite hot outside. The TV was also not working. Moreover, the staff were non cooperative. As soon as we entered the hotel, at around 3 PM, the receptionist was complaining against OYO. This was the first hotel where there was no check-in procedure. We did not have to sign in the hotel registers. At around 5 PM they asked us for the ID cards and promised us to return it by 8 PM. After 8 PM, finding the reception empty, we called him over his mobile a number of times but he picked up only once, to share the WiFi password and to inform us that he will return the cards soon. At around 10 PM we gave him a final call and had to raise our voice in order to get back the ID cards, then he, within a few minutes, came and knock our doors & return our cards. On the next day morning we checked out at around 8:30 PM. There was no one in the reception at that time. We called on that mobile number in order to submit the keys. The person told us to keep the room keys on the reception table, whenever he will come he will collect it.nIs that the way a hotel runs?

The rates seems to be quite expensive compared to quality. Services are way too slow. Don't expect them to serve breakfast before 10.30-11am. So if you have plans to go out early and already paid for the breakfast in advance, you are doomed. Geyser and television was not working in the room I stayed in. There are no ceiling fans in non-ac rooms. Overall I felt they have a lot of work to do.

More of a lodge than a hotel, right at the centre of Kalimpong market. Spread over 2 floors. Small rooms wid just basic facility.nRestaurant available at the ground floor, lot of eating options around.
