Its a nice place for nature lover. The jeep trip inside the sanctuary is mind blowing. There is a small hotel named dhoritri just near the entrance. We got there home cooked food & it was awesome.

I visited this great wildlife Sanctuary two times. I am Fecinated by the natural beauty of this place specially the rhinoceros. This place much be conserved. Nice place. ☺ud83dude0aud83dude4fud83dude0c

This is a small wildlife sanctuary covering an area of about 39 square kilometres and is located about 40 kms east of Guwahati.nThe area is covered by mainly by grassland and as such herbivorous animals like rhinos, deer and buffaloes are found here. There are also a few wetlands which house different varieties of fishes. Different types of birds are seen feeding on these water bodies.nIn order to visit this sanctuary, one has to take an elephant ride or a jeep safari as walking inside the park is prohibited.nThe sanctuary is accessible to tourist only during the dry season from November to April.nNear the entrance to the sanctuary, there are a number of resorts and restaurants where one can make an overnight stay or have meals.nThe main advantage of this sanctuary is that it is very close to Guwahati and easily accessible from Guwahati.

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is in the Marigaon district of Assam. The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of about 39 sq. km. and is famous for one-horn rhinoceros. The WLS is also home to a large number of migratory birds. Major wildlife sighted in the forest includes Asiatic Buffaloes, Wild bear, Civet cat, Leopard, monkeys etc. The terrain of Pabitora is hilly and diverse vegetation of the forest can be of special interest to the naturalist.nnThe Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the border of Nagaon and Kamrup Dist, 60 km from Guwahati. It is just a couple of hours drive from Guwahati through beautiful terrain. Guwahati is the nearest major city and the connecting point for travelers visiting Pabitora by Air, Rail or Road.
