State Forest department has maintained the area really well. Suggestion is not to follow Google maps as Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary as destination, instead use forest department interpretation center as destination. There are multiple locations with some human settlements around and friendly nature of local people helps you to navigate through forest.nWalk through the forest, it will help you observing nature more closely.

Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is located in south Goa district. It can be reached from Palolem or Agonda beach in south Goa. The sanctuary is very well maintained with lush green and dense forest. Proper maps and sign boards for guidance, Treetop settings and watch towers. Unfortunately don't expect to see much animals except some birds and monkeys. There is an eco-tourism complex near the entry point with a cafeteria, garden, ranger's office etc.

It’s affordable. We went there after lunch and we were advise to return early the next day so there’s a chance to spot animals in the morning. Since we are there and its affordable, we went in anyway and returned before 7am the next day. We only saw monkeys, birds and chicken. Was a good hike all in all. Check the picture for timings and fees.
