The oldest Qadiyani mosque in Kerala.nnThe Ahmadiyyas or Qadiyanis as they are known are considered to be a non-Muslim group which denies the Final prophethood of Khatamunnabiyyeen Hazrat Muhammed (S.A.W), though they claim to believe in Holy Qur'an.nnIronically they follow the Hanafi school of Islamic Fiq'h (Jurisprudence), though the Hanafi School and its Imam Hazrat Abu Haneefa had categorically stated that Hazrat Muhammad (S. A.W.) is the Final Messenger of Allah. Undoubtedly there is no Prophet after him.nnAnother point worth mentioning is that Gulam Ahmed Qadiyani who claimed prophethood and founded the Qadiyani Ahmadiya religion was a staunch supporter of the oppressive British rule in India.

Ayikkara is a very interesting destination for tourists. There is a beautiful palace called Arakkalkettu which is transformed into a well maintained museum. Arakkal Masjidh is a very photogenic mosque. There are four or five other mosques of equally majestic look. The fishing harbour is very photogenic. The otherside of the fishing harbour is a 300 meter walkway into the sea. You can access the walkway by visiting the St.Angelo's fort. There are many little restaurants in this area selling fish fry, fish masala and fish biriyani.
