When I was in need of 1 & 2 rupees coin, instead of getting it from teashop, I thought of getting it from RBI.nnSounds best. Isn't it? I tried.nnThere is a tight security to enter into the premises. We have to park vehicle outside with our own risk.nnTwo levels of security check up. Better avoid cigarette lighter. Cooperate with them. Walked to the coin counters. Coin vending machine is available but it seems not working. But there are 3 counters coin, rupee currencies, mutilated or damaged notes exchange. Great. Give the money. Ask the denomination. No questions asked. Fast. Finished. Just smile and get away.nnThought of asking the availability of 200, 500, 1000 rupees coins. But seriously forgot. Next time have to ask.nnIt's a nice experience, people can avail the benefits. Cool.

The attitude of the staff, right from the private security guards at the entrance to the glorified clerks who man the counter, is nothing but absurd and insolent. Avoid the place at all costs and visit your nearest designated bank branch, that has a 'currency chest' to exchange soiled or torn currency bills. There are thirty two such bank branches in Ernakulam district alone. You can also avail currency notes of preferred denominations & even get coins at local banks. Save yourself from the unmannerly behaviour of the uncivil ill-breds at the place.
