Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

Visitors can enjoy a great drive through the forest and able to see different animals including elephants if they are lucky. Beautiful scenarios on the way. The forest department provides trekking of one to six hours with guides. Journey through forest during night is unsafe and hence it is not allowed after 7pm. No mobile networks available.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, located at the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, is accessed on the drive between Pollachi and Munnar. A short walk down the Chinnar stream can be surprisingly productive with signs and occasional encounters with many mammal species, a high bird diversity that is attracted to the banks of the stream and a plethora of butterflies and dragonflies.
