Rhododendron Trek

A great place to go for a near trekking.. the dense forest makes it even more adventurous

What used to be a horse road used by the British, the trek is a go-to. While it may lack in certain amazing natural features as expected of most treks, it is certainly a delight to get away from the tiring city life and be one with nature once in a while. It's near to the main city and you can easily find transportation plying to and from the area. However, it may be mentioned that certain necessities like drinking water and public toilets are found to be lacking. Yet, on the whole, it is advised that you take the trek, if you're a budding adventurer and it'll prepare you for other challenging ones. It is also advised that you pack food before setting out and start out from the upper entrance which lies on the way to Shillong view point.

This is a trek route made by the Forest department of Meghalaya. The length of the trek is 6 Km. One can enter at the Cherapunjee road and get out at the road to Shillong peak or vice-versa. its awesome and challenging.
