Bay of Buddha is a rooftop restaurant which possibly offers the best view and setting overlooking the Bay of Bengal. The soothing sound of the waves, the cool sea breeze and the warm lighting add to the amazing and romantic dining experience. The menu offers a wide range of mouth watering cuisines, my personal favourite being the Sushi and Green Thai Curry. The staff is also really friendly. Overall I had a very pleasant experience, for this reason I highly recommend going to the Bay of Buddha while you're in Pondicherry.

The ambience ( roof top )is really good but when it comes to the food this is one of the worst restaurants that I have ever been to. Not even a single dish thst we ordered was worth mentioning. The service is really bad and it takes nearly an hour for the dish to be served after placing the order. Eventhough the ambience was good we were not able to enjoy it due to tasteless food and the attitude of the staffs.nIt was totally disappointing as we are paying so much and they are not meeting our expectation both in terms of food and service.nSo you guys can consider another hotel ..

Drinks were tasty but no peanuts/snacks with drinks, which would be expected with drinks at this price. Also no wifi. Staff not so attentive, had to wait a while to order, to get the bill, to pay by card. Lots of waiting with an almost empty bar.nnThere was also a happy hour offer that no one told us about until we were paying for the bill

If you want great Asian cuisine in Pondicherry, this is THE PLACE TO GO. Open air, rooftop restaurant in one of the most sought after hotels on the promenade beach - The Promenade/ The Hidesign hotel. Has finger licking food. Great place to unwind after along day.

Want a romantic posh rooftop date place in Pondicherry? This is the place for you. Sit under the open sky and the view of promenade beach. Expect to spend good bucks as this delicacy comes with a price tag. But the menu items and the taste are really good. Coming from a purely food perspective, this place is overpriced for the food they serve. But if you look at the overall picture, with such a view, service and being at the rooftop of one of the biggest and most expensive hotel of Pondicherry, this seems pretty much what one would expect.
