Dali about 5km away from DARJEELING town. Although is famously known as dali monastery but it's real name is Druk Sangag Choling monastery this is the name which is written in the bold letter outside the wall and you can see it walking by road or while approaching arch gatenWhen you look at the monastery from little distance standing on the Hill cart road it look awesome.nIt is the one of largest monasteries with white buildings build in typical Tibetan style .

Big, peaceful, eventful monastery with a coffee house!nnI went there while I was taking a walk in Darjeeling, watched the cultural show where they celebrate their festival with dance and music.nnHad a coffee at the inhouse coffee shop there. It was one of the biggest monasteries I ever seen in India.nnI just sat there silently watching the performance of monks and captured the video. I honestly went there with an intent to spend not more than 15 minutes but I ended up spending like an hour on my own will.nnThe peace and tranquility can be felt at every spot there! loved my visit!

It's my native place but I never got the opportunity to visit until this time. And I was mesmerized. It's a beautiful monastery. So serene so peaceful. Do visit their souvenir shop they have a reasonable range of beautiful collections ranging from crockery, key chains, bracelets, wind chimes, incense sticks, accessories etc.

Beautiful monastery, very welcoming. We stopped by just as a prayer ceremony was beginning. We were invited to sit and observe and were served delicious tea along with the monks.nnA small cafe and gift shop are on the grounds as well.nnA very peaceful place.
