It is named after Prince Kamgar Shah and constructed by his son Sahebzada Ahmed shah. Prince Kamgar Shah was the great grandson of Tipu Sultan. After the fall of seringapatnam where Tipu Sultan died fighting valiantly on the 4th of May 1799, his sons were transported to Calcutta as prisoners of was in 1806 by the British after they hatched the Vellore Mutiny against the British. Prince Kamgar Shah from Kolkata had mining interest in Hindustan Copper limited previously known as Indian copper co. As such he had purchased properties in Ghatsila. He had taken lease from Rajah of ghatsila -the Singh deo's -and eventually the mines were taken away from the hands of the Prince and nationalised in 1964 unfortunately I no compensation was paid by Government To the family of the Prince.
