Small patch of mangroves are seen here.. Most of them are facing threats from pollution and degradation of environment..This place once supported lush mangroves..Many fish varieties survive in this peculiar ecosystem..

This place is among the very few places among the mangroves which are protected.Mangrove forest has a vital role in controlling climate and biodiversity of the place form natural calamities.

This is a small patch of mangroves left in the Asramam coast of Ashtamudi Lake. Otters (Mustelidae Lutrinae) can be seen in abundance. This ecosystem needs to be conserved for the future generation.
