Sugarcane Research Center

Very nice research station mainly dealing with Sugarcane germplasm conservation and exploitation. It is also housing a world Sugarcane germplasm collection. Recently started producing 'liquid jaggery' (Product Name: Then Sarkara) from sugarcane and successfully transferred the liquid jaggery processing technology to many startups in the Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Kerala's only sugar cane research center,with more than 2 Hectors of land ,lush greenary of different species and genera of sugarcane plants, situated on both sides of the talap-kakkad road,superb view in the morning and at the sunset,heaven for foxes and other rare nocturnal animals, situated amidst the hustle and bustle of the kannur corporation

It is a very good place to see different kinds of sugarcane germplasm.
