District Court Tezpur

On 14 August 1967, the undivided Darrang District and Sessions Judge Court was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. K. Dutta, the then Chief Justice of Hon’ble Gauhati High Court. Mr. U. N. Rajkhowa was posted as first District and Sessions Judge of Darrang District. On 31 October 1985, the Darrang District was divided into two parts. One is Sonitpur District and the other is Darrang District. Present Position Regarding Court’s Accommodation Existing Court Building At Tezpur: Presently there are two Court Buildings in Tezpur Sub-Division, one is New R.C.C. Court Building and the other is Old Assam-Type Court Building. The new R.C.C. Court Building was inaugurated by the former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. K. Goel on 9-2-2013. The new R.C.C. Court Building accommodates the courts and offices of the District and Sessions Judge, the Additional District and Sessions Judge No.1, the Additional District and Sessions Judge No.2, Civil Judge and Assistant Sessions Judge, Munsiff No.1 and Munsiff No.2 respectively. The old Assam-Type Court Building accommodates the Courts and offices of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (S), and other Judicial Magistrates. In addition, the Old Court Building has one Medical Clinic and one Conference room. Existing Court Building At Biswanath Chariali: There is one two-storied RCC building at Biswanath Chariali Sub–Divisional Judicial Court accommodating all the three Courts namely, (1) Additional District and Sessions Judge (FTC) (2) Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (M) (3) Munsiff -cum- Judicial Magistrate 1st Class. New Court Building At Gohpur: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (M) Court building was inaugurated by Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, on 23 July 2014, in the building “Swahid Bhawan” at Gohpur and presently the said building is accommodating the Courts of (1) Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (M) and (2) Munsiff -cum- Judicial Magistrate 1st Class.

It's kinda good everything....

It is at the heart of town, beside the Brahmaputra. The old Assam type houses the CJM court, bar associations, tribunals , canteen etc. The new court building is imposing in structure & comfortable interiors including toilets. The computer system is good. The staff are not bad.

The district Court tezpur ....

Always crowded, crowd mainly consisting of native peoples but from all sosciety. Middleman Fill up the pockets mainly from the new peoples as an when they understand it. Its necessary to be careful of such middleman. Just as The district court level, not a comfortable place to be in.
