Good place with lots of historical artefacts. Have lots of ancient scripts and tools.

Very nicely decorated with ancient times articles.

This interesting museum near the Polo Ground has a fairly good display of Manipur's tribal heritage and collection of portraits of Manipur's former rules.Particularly interesting items are costumes, arms & weapons, relics and historical documents.

A must visit place if you come to Manipur. Beautifully decorated, full of various different collection. You will enjoy your visit.

the Manipur State Museum in Imphal was inaugurated on 23rd September 1969. The museum comprises galleries of archaeological, ethnology and natural history. Visiting the museum, one could see the main feature of the museum which is like 54-feet long royal boat called Hiyang Hiren, which you would find showcased in the open gallery. Not just this, but tourists from across the globe visiting the Manipur State Museum come across the historical dossiers, war weapons and tribal clothing to the range of royal artefacts exhibited including the ancient polo equipment and the costumes.
