This is the oldest mountaineering school in India. It is one of the four Govt mountaineering institutions in India. It's an amazing place to visit, especially the museum that has relics from the first successful Everest expedition of 1953. A must visit in Darjeeling.

Very Good place to visit for tour andnadventure. If you would stay here for onenmonth you will become physically andnmentally strong in the mountain fieldsnand in very cold harsh climates. This trip was very exciting as well as quite hard.nWe would never forget this trip in our lifetime.nThanks to all for the help!

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is one of the premier mountaineering institutes in the world. Established on November 4th, 1954 by Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India, to commemorate the first successful ascent of Mount Everest by late Tenzing Sherpa & Edmund Hillary.
