This mosque is inside the Fatehpur Sikri complex and is beside the Salim Christi tomb. You need to remove shoes to go inside but it is worth it. There are fine architecture details to marvel. A big prayer arch in the front for the prayer leader is decorated with fine tiles and worth a close look. Elsewhere do wander along the little corridors and you will see huge chandelier. Look up at the huge dome and you will see the decorative details through it was not been preserved properly. A quite and tranquil place....

The masjid itself is beautiful and the complex well maintained. There is a popular beilef that tying a thread in the mosque will make three of your wishes come true. However, we had hired a guide to show us Fathepur and while he initially was fine, towards the end he took us to a salesperson next to the masjid who wanted to make us believe that if we didn't buy exorbitantly priced 'chadars' from him, we were being disrespectful to God. It preety much ruined the experience for us especially when the guide was also on the salesman's side. For any visitor, don't hire a guide or feel forced to give money to any touts or salesmen. You can go directly to the masjid and they will give you threads to tie for your wishes inside. There's a donation box inside incase you want to make a donation.

A huge complex and structure includes 3 huge dome where the Central dome is the biggest. Good experience but take care of local guides and vendors

Truthfully, I had never heard of Fatehpur Sikri until our driver suggested we should stop here on the road from Agra to Jaipur. This was easily the nicest surprise of our Golden Triangle trip. The Sufi saint’s tomb appears to draw people from the Hindu and Sikh communities seeking the blessing as much as it does from the Muslim community which would be the more obvious constituency for a Sufi.

Beautiful place. I liked everything. But at the last we were looted like anything. We came in a group and inspite of refusing our guide forced us to pay ₹200 and tie the thread. I had no interest but still had to do it. I admire the culture but not the looting.
