Stayed twice and it is the best on that lake.

Absolutely a wonderful experience. A true oasis in the midst of suburban Atlanta.nnSet on Allatoona Lake, the scenery and sunsets were beautiful. Very serene, peaceful and quiet, with nothing but the faint sound of a train whistle in the distance at night.nnThe facilities and staff were fantastic. The shower was powerful and one of the best in any campground.nnI highly recommend this campground to everyone!

Most of the camping spots are good. During the summer and fall is hard to find a spot for the weekend, you need to book in advance. The premium sites have lake views. The bathrooms and laundry room are dated, but usable. It is gated, and during the summer/fall they close at 10pm and opens at 7am. During the winter the gate closes at 9pm.

This campground has definitely gone down hill. We have been coming here for years. It’s very convenient for visiting our family. The infrastructure is still nice, but the people who now frequent the campground have changed. It used to be we avoided it on holiday weekends due to the crowds and the drunks, but that is now every weekend. One of the couples that have been working here for four years is quitting after this stint. They have to call the sheriff’s department or the park rangers multiple times every weekend now. The final straw for us was the family in the next loop over. Mom and five kids ages about four to sixteen. All who’s favorite word was F... shouted at each other, including the four year old girl who also pooped in the shower. One of the boys crawled under the bathroom stall while my wife was sitting there.

Beautiful campground. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Level campsites with beautiful views of the lake. I grew up in a small town that had a train running through it, so the sounds of the train off in the distance was nice to me. Kids loved the playground and all the rocks by the lake. Old guy at the front isn't the friendliest or have the best sense of humor, but I only had to deal with him at check in. So I didn't let it bother me. We will definitely come back to this campsite.
