Temple and Name: As per Shiva Purana Shiva destroyed tripurasuras(demons ruling three cities) here. Since he destroyed the three cities along with the demons he is called Tripuranthakeswara and this place is called Tripuranthakam. This temple is on the top of the hill and there is a secret underground passage from here to srisailam next to the temple. Below the hill there is a mother Parvathi temple who is in the form of Tripura Sundari Devi. God in form of Shiva Linga is really beautiful. Tripuranthakam is considered as eastern gateway of Sri Sailam.nEducation: There is One ZPPH school and One Govt. Junior college there.nThis place developed by the Nagarjuna sagar canal, In the early days of NSP canal there are many NSP divisions and Many govt Employees are stayed there.nTheir childrends broughtup and grown there here and well educated in ZPPHS school. Now you can find these people any part of the Andhra. We can find these people in US also.nFor the NSP employees there is big NSP Quarters (Gated community) was there, Now many of NSP divisions are closed. Very few of NSP employees are working there, NSP Quarters lost their identity.nnBanks: State Bank and some other banks are there.nTransportation: It is situated on the National High way Guntur-Kurnool,nPeople: The people who are staying are very honest people.
