Raiganj Bird Sanctuary

Different migrating bird species seen. Aquarium was average, cleanliness can be improved. 1 hour is enough to roam around unless you want to sit and relax. Important points to note- There are no eatables available inside nor near the main gate, so plan accordingly, entry fee- Rs 40.

A good place for bird lovers and bird watchers to encounter migratory birds who form nests during the winter time in order to breed. But during rest of the year ot is just the jungle without any particular attraction. If you love jungle then it will be fine for you to have a lazy walk through it which will take less than an hour. Otherwise for normal people it should be visited only during the winter.

Total forest trees are covered with birds. Its the perfect time to visit here. You will witness the beauty of the birds who travelled here from cold country, from the tower, which I can't express in words. Love this place.

Best place to stay in Raigunj. Beautiful location. Next to Raigunj bird sanctuary. The lodge itself is an extended part of the sanctuary as colonies of birds can be seen in the tree tops of this lodge. Rooms are large in size. Food is good. Serves drinks. In general the service is a bit late but good. Well secured.
