I saw it from outside and came to know what would be inside. I was a resident of Chembur from 1960 to 1991. I still remember, during the 60s, it was pride of Chembur as it was the only air conditioned theatre in the area and going there to watch any movie with family and friends was a great pleasure for all. AC was very powerful, seats very comfortable, picture and sound quality excellent, canteen used to serve tasty samosas, snacks and beverages at reasonable prices. Management was talking pains to maintain the ambience and decor. But over the period, due to poor management, improper maintenance, the quality deteriorated gradually and it has come to the present stage. Added to all these, competition from multiplexes has caused further damage. Most surprising is still it continues to run against all odds is something great. I doubt will there be any scope for improvement. The best option will be to sell the land to some potential builder who can build Shopping mall or residential tower, as the place is strategically located (very close to railway station and bus stop ). Rest is left to God.
