It is actually a small airstrip. Very rarely aircraft arrive here, and that also private aircraft. Earlier, people used to learn car and two wheelers driving on the runway, but recently walls were constructed, and runway was closed for these activities. There are still many empty roads nearby where you can learn driving. Scene from here is just awesome with green fields all around it. Hope it is developed more and commercial services start from here soon.

Jeypore airport is among the oldest airports in Odisha, during 1962 it was constructed with runway but even before that it was ready for small plane landing. Due to lack of interest Jeypore connectivity was never given importance. 1980s Vayudut used to run flights from Jeypore to Vizag, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar. Now again with Udan scheme India Govt has taken steps to upgrade this to fullfledge airport. Hope this airport will becom the third largest airport in state after Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda. So Far Govt has consider for daily flights service to Bhubaneswar but it would definately helpful to the region if the connectivity is made with all major cities of India.
