Thanjavur Palace Art Gallery

Personally found it pretty boring but a great place for people interested in History. A lot to read up with loads of sculptures and statues on display each telling their own story. If your into photography then this place offers a lot of photo ops with some great lighting. But ensure you go at a good time with good daylight as otherwise the purpose will be defeated as the play of light in most of the buildings is what makes it interesting to capture.

It was really a well spent evening for me, i could not roam around fully as i had reached there at evening, better go there early and come after spending a good time there if you are a historical enthusiast

One of the best art galleries. Speaks the grandeur of thanjavur. The artifacts are really unique. There are books that might be found really Bizzare, like the anatomy of an elephants grey anatomy of of horses. The morphology of humans with animals.nnMany different Palm leaf inscribings are present in this art gallery and they are considered to be e an asset as well as great way to look at the history of India.nnPhotography is not permitted inside the gallery premises. Do not miss the audio video show in the library. The show is really informative and and is screened in a big room which is air conditioned.
