Pirthiganj Airstrip now in tattered condition. It serves no purpose to government since it was used as a open grain storage center during Mayavati's government. Nearby villagers used to play here, some come here to learn car driving, few visits the place for joyriding. Old airstrips like Pirthiganj, Trishundi & near by places should be restored like old days, so that it can be used as a emergency landing purpose by DGCA & AIR FORCE.

As per my late grandfather, this is an abandoned runway that was made by the British during World War-II as a backup of major Royal Airforce stations - just in case they get bombed by the Japanese.nnHopefully in near future, such abandoned airstrips would be put in good use, if not for regular airlines, then for autonomous drone operations.
