Gorkha Stadium is located in Lebong, Darjeeling. The stadium has a seating capacity for approximately 15,000 people and is used for several events like Football, cricket, and cultural events. It was built in the year 1993.nnOften, the Independence Day celebration is being organised in this stadium. It is also being referred as the Public Ground.nnThere is a lot of opportunity to upgrade the ground if the local authorities could be a little more serious about it because besides this stadium, there is only one more ground for large public gathering or events. Compared to the stadium in bigger cities, this stadium lacks in many other aspects yet can be clearly upgraded to the next level.

Very well maintained place. Football matches and many other functions are held here every year. People come here for morning and evening walks too.

The only stadium, of a sort, in Darjeeling. It is a little bit far away from the town, in a place called Lebong. Like most places in Darjeeling it is not looked after well. Could be much better, cleaner and inviting. But still, the playground is good for the youth of the area.
