Amazing work installing an outlet under our kitchen island for a garbage disposal. Very reasonably priced for the work. Jeremy was fantastic both times he came out to our house. Would highly recommend them. If we need any additional electrical needs we’ll be sure to call Pingston again.

Had 3 companies come out to provide a price quote for a Panel replacement and running 2 external outlets. Pingston was the only company to require payment for estimate ($89). Their estimate was for all the same items as the other two companies but was nearly double the other quotes (prior two quotes were around $2,200 while Pingston was charging $4,300). I told the estimator that it was pretty much double and therefor would not be considered. He seemed surprised and said he would inform his boss. No one ever called to attempt to provide a more completive offer. The other two estimates were from large companies with a high Review rating. I see no justification for their high price and was out $89 just to receive a bid that was laughably high.

I previously used Pingston to install a transfer switch and outside hookup for my portable generator and they did good work. Due to that, I got a quote from them to install a whole home surge arrestor installed outside at the incoming power meter location.nnThey quoted 750 for the job, and although normally I get 3 quotes, I didn't in this case, trusting the quote due to the previous service. The install ended up taking less than 30 minutes, and I looked the part up online and it is available for ~150 or so from what I can tell. So, unfortunately I can't figure out how those things add up to a 750 quotation. I have asked that question of Pingston, and so far have not received a breakdown of the estimate that would help me to understand, but I certainly do not feel I received good value for money for this installation. Always get 3 quotes!

If a company is going to charge an $89.00 “Diagnostic” Fee when calling to get an estimate, that should be disclosed upon scheduling an appointment with the office, not after the site visit. Called the office twice, once to reschedule, and the $89 fee was never mentioned. Very unprofessional both in the fee that was slipped in at the end and also the lame estimate that was given same day; scope of work not detailed. Did get a couple of other estimates from licensed and insured companies and their estimates were “free”, professionally presented and the price blew their estimate out of the park by $$$$ thousands! Called the office to inquire: a. why the fee wasn’t disclosed when scheduling the estimate and b. why the lack of a detailed scope of work. I was told it would be “looked into on Monday” since we called the next day (Saturday) and the paperwork wouldn’t be in the office until then. Never received a call back but they had no issue cashing the check. Word of advice: ask if there is a “diagnostic fee” before scheduling an estimate and get at least three estimates.
