I think this is the oldest Temple for lord rama. Temple is bery beautiful... And this was initially established by jaambavan and developed by chola kings with dravidian architecture during the ramayana period in memory of raam, sita, lakshmans' arrival from lankhapuri on way to ayodhya after victory. and later a chozha king called krimi kantan who destroyed all the vaishnava temples in his reign because of his hatred in lord vishnu and this is one of that.. Like he uninstalled the idol from the santum sanctorum and thrown them in waterways.. I.e. Lake and later reinstalled by later cholan king janamejaya and well maintained by vijaya nagara rayas also.. Especially krishna deva raya and now is maintained by tirumala thirupathi devasthanam trust and there is always a huge crowd present here to offer prayers in the lotus feet of lord kodanda raama and also there is seperate shrines for maa sita devi and lord lakshmana here.. And yugadi, rama navami are celebrated in a grand manner and there is brahma ratothsavam for lord is performed during the rama navami festival.nDon't miss to visit this place when you come to tirupati.nRaama raamaethi raamaethi ramae raamae manoramae sahasra naama thaththulyam raama naama varaananae
