Have heard of very poor facilities being available here..for any emergency they send the patient to Pune. Don’t know why Apollo is associated here. This place cannot be depended upon for any emergency.

I've been to this hospital -- part of the large Apollo hospital chain -- for several wellness checkups as well as other medical visits in the past and always felt good about my experience. The doctors and staff seem very knowledgeable and caring. It's a bright, attractive place and never crowded as it's very small and Lavasa itself is a small town. I would recommend this hospital more for general than specialty medicine, though some of the doctors are specialists who come out once or twice a week from Pune. A few notes of caution for visitors to Lavasa in need of medical care so far from a large town: if there were an unusual emergency, a patient wold have to be transported to Pune, about 2 hours away, or perhaps medivacked to Mumbai. And the pharmacy is small. Although there is no cafeteria, the hospital is just a few minutes' walk from the Mercure Hotel, which has one of the best restaurants in town, and not far from the many other restaurants as well. I always enjoyed combining visits to Apollo with day trips to Lavasa -- definitely a destination in itself. I might add that English is not an issue here.
