Old station is good looking from outside only .on platforms rats are moving eveywhere.no waiting halls and not proper toilets also

Delhi Junction Railway Station or another name is Old Delhi Railway Station. If you travel alone and is your first trip to India you have to know some things about the trains. Trains is the most common and comfortable transportation in India except airplane. To book a ticket for a train in india are two sites one is the official and its little bit hard to undrestant or else you can go to the railway station to buy there the ticket, but be carefull in high season most trains are full you have to book tickets many days before. Also you can go to a turist office, but there is another problem, you have to search for reviews to which tourist office you go, never let a taxi driver or tok tok boy to go you there. In many cases they told you that trains are full and you have to buy a special ticket for tourists that cost higher.Also as first timer better go at least one hour earlier to the train staion. Train stations in India are huge have many platforms and i advice you if you cant find the platform by your self ask a train station personel where to go. If you ask passengers waiting in platforms every one will tell you a different thing. Another problem is that trains are very accurate in timming. Accurate is not the problem, the problem is that trains are very very log and train system have many seat classes not only first second and third, in some stations are indicators that open before train arrive that show the number of the class in every wagon, but if not you have some minutes to find where your wagon is, and is very hard when so many people go in and out train. So you have to ask again to find where your vagon be and better book an air condition class especially if the weather is hot.

Delhi Junction, also known as Old Delhi Railway Station (station code: DLI), is the oldest railway station of Delhi city and a Junction station. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India in terms of frequency. Around 250 trains start, end, or pass through the station daily. It was established near Chandni Chowk in 1864 when trains from Howrah, Calcutta started operating up to Delhi. Its present building was constructed by the British Indian government in the style of the nearby red-colored fort and opened in 1903. It has been an important railway station of the country and preceded the New Delhi Railway Station by about 60 years. Chandni Chowk underground station of the Delhi Metro is near it.

Mostly crowded and problem of hygiene is always persistent.
