The attendant is never in his office. Today of all times that I've had to travel between Fort Wayne and South Bend. I nearly missed my bus because he decided to take an hour lunch and not be available. Multiple times even the 9 am bus. Fire your Attendant. I think we're all sick of it. Especially the location. Why would you move to the epicenter of the homeless? Hell last week a driver was shoved aside by 3 crackheads jumping another guy over gpd knows what
They changed the location of the Greyhound bus Depot a few weeks ago. It's been at the airport for decades. Signs still up. But no sign saying they moved miles away. Except a little 8 x 11 piece of paper.
I actually didn't use the Greyhound bus station I went to the South Bend regional airport and the airport is very clean and it's very low stress always a pleasure to fly into South Bend. Also their rental car department at the airport is super friendly and you don't have to go through a bunch of red tape to rent a car. I have taken a south shore at the airport to Chicago and that service is very fast and friendly as well I can't imagine the Greyhound terminal being anything but very friendly and fast
I have had to complain about rude drivers, unclean buses and ridiculous policies since my very first ride but today was the straw that broke the camels back.nnFirst I get a ticket that won’t scan. The bus driver writes me off and tells me to go to customer service. Of course there’s only one lady printing tickets at the counter so there’s a wait. This driver almost LEAVES me stranded in Detroit until I run over to him and remind him he needs to wait until the time on the ticket to leave. He reluctantly tries my ticket again and let’s me on board. Ride is smooth enough and then a two hour layover in Toledo....which, it is what it is. Whatever.nnFinally Chicago bus is here. Ride is okay, people are talking, some on their phones, kids making noise the usual to be expected on public transit. We get to the station I’m let off at. I’m the only one, I’m gathering my things. He’s going on about how it’s my stop and people were talking on the phone and blah blah blah. Whatever, except for one thing, he doesn’t lower the bus, he doesn’t put the step down for me to SAFELY get off.nnHe was so wrapped up in berating me and the other riders that he neglected to do an essential part of HIS job. Because I felt rushed and didn’t want to cause more of a scene I quickly and quietly dart off the bus, thinking the bus was lowered I misstep on the last “stair” and land hard on my ankle. I shake it off at first and get inside the station and leave.nnAfter telling my S/O and family about the incident I was told to call Greyhound’s “customer service” which is laughable. I told one guy step by step what happened, he puts me on hold for 20 minutes just for another guy whom I can’t understand that well to ask me to go over what happened again. In the end nothing got resolved I got a “case number” but nothing ever comes of those. He ended up calling me “sir” and after me asking “what about my ankle” he offers me a free ticket. Yeah, no thanks.nnI’m going to the doctor tomorrow and we will see what will come of all this.nnDave Leach, CEO...if you ever read this. If you ever care to read this, your company has many, many holes and if these don’t get fixed, they’re the type of holes that sink ships, or in your case buses.
Things have change since I rode Greyhound. It no longer pick-up or drop off at the South Bend Regional Airport. You have to pay for your ticket at the Transpo Bus Station downtown. Which you catch the bus on the corner.
