The church it self its beautiful and it has a big parking lot. The inside is beautiful and spacious. Social distancing seating during mass/ church service.

The people are great and the priests are awesome. Such a loving community.

We are traveling in Texas in a RV. We are visiting my elderly Aunt. On Ash Wednesday we went to Our Lady of the Lake, In Rockwall, which was by her home to receive ashes. We were refused by the secretary and the priest, who had ashes on his forehead, He literally agreed with her. Who runs this church? Told us to come back in 3 hrs. Shame on you!!! Not a holy day of obligation we weren’t going to be there in 3 hours. you don’t refuse people who ask for something so simple. This is your calling to be there for the people. We will pray for you.nCalled Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland, Fr. Joseph welcomes us with open arms. This how a church should be especially the first day of lent.

Being our of town i went into church at 3:30 today hoping to get ashes . I had looked up mass/service times , but was with my host and asked her to please take me to the church .nnAt home we can get them all day , knowing peoples schedules are many . I had seen on the morning show here that a church offered the same .. so I hoped .nnLuckily a priest walked into the narthex as I stepped in . I asked if I could get ashes , explaining my situation . He said no , the service is in 30 minutes , if I do it for you a line will start and who knows . No one was in there but me and a woman with a couple of kids .nnI have no doubt God understands .But the instant dismissal.. makes me sad .
