N VIGNESH NAYAKA (12/08/2020)
India's most renowned writer RK Narayan stayed in this house till the last days of his life. It is said that he used this house to create most of his works. All walls of the house are filled with his quotes. Common things he used are put up to display and also placards carrying information about some of the remarkable events of his life are also put up for display. The house and it's premises have been kept clean and tidy and no entry fee is collected from the visitors. It is worth giving a visit especially for the readers, admirers and fans of RK Narayan.

The building was almost on the verge of collapsing a few years ago. Preservation efforts have borne fruit.nThere is something about the place that makes me just want to sit on the floor and relax.nnSome door signs could use a spell check.

It's a real boon for a R.K.Nararayan fan. You will not only get to see the place he spent his life, also you will get a glimpse of all the awards he has got over the years for his works apart from books too. All his attire including the coats, sweater and accessories like watch, glasses, shawl is on the display. It seems like he was a fashionable man in his time. There are pictures from the malgudi days and some still from his real life. All his books are in display and unfortunately not for sale.

It's an experience. You get a taste of how life was when RK Narayan was writing. A peep show into the calm that gave birth to a legend.
