St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church

The church itself has a long history. Legend says that one of the priest before becoming a padre was captured by demons and was brought to their place. Then their leader gets fond of this guy and teaches him magic. With this newly mastered techniques he escapes from that place. The demons came to know of this and followed him back till Kadamattom church. The guy entered the church, the demons who can't go inside started beating the church with chains outside. The guy did something and threw his kerchief to the ground suddenly the demons disappeared. From there on he started helping needy with his magic. But the patriarch, when came to the country he met him and saw the dark magic which he uses and took away those powers from the priest. There is a well which is said to be the path through which the guy escaped demons.

Consectrated in the 9th century,St.George's Church⛪ is an ancient Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.This church is situated 19km from ud83dude88Chottanikkara Road Railway Station and 30km from ud83dude88Ernakulam Junction Railway Station.The church became famous as the legendary priest,Kadamattathu Kathanar✝ is believed to have lived here and also buried inside the church...

One of the first built church in kerala. Lots of myths and religious practices done by people here. Peaceful atmosphere.

I had been living in here when i was born. This is actually is a blessing for us. Many devotees of different religion visits here. It’s truly a great place.
