Philipkutty's Farm

enjoyed our stay at Philipkutty's Farm in December. Our cottage was spacious and comfortable with a very nice bathroom with two sinks. There was a pleasant sitting area. We could sit outside and watch the houseboats go by. Food was very good with tasty vegetarian selections. One of the guests had special dietary restrictions and servings were adapted for her.nOne morning we went on a boat with a birdwatching guide and were very pleased with the many birds we saw.nWe were ferried from the Island to take a walk through the village to the charming local church which had been established in the 15th century.nOn our tour of the farm we saw the vechur cow, a very small cow, that produces lots of milk for the food it requires.nWe enjoyed talking with Anu and her mother-in law, who is responsible for the kitchen, and would enthusiastically recommend Philipkutty's Farm for a stay in the Kerala Backwaters.
