Quite peaceful and calm place to be. Situated in Gujarati Street, Near south beach, calicut. Property have restaurant, shared kitchen and shared lounge also free wifi.

Such a beautiful......lot of time I visited the south beach...then I found this amazing place in Gujarati street...the stay in here was amazing....much precious memoir...one day when I followed their a bike project called ‘katalan’ was projected their...I don’t know the creator name but it was awesome....I really liked it...when I enters in there the tree in that yard is amazing with sparkling lights...such a nice experience I had...

Don't expect a posh hotel, it's a normal place with extraordinary and beautiful highlights. Moreover, it's the calmness and peacefulness, I loved. Another attraction is the walkable distance to the beach. The ambiance really moved me. It's so beautiful and gives us a homely feel. You also have a common kitchen.nnOverall great experience.

This is one of the memorable back packers DOM I have been spent time. Very nostalgic memories of calicut beach and Gujarathi street. Very calm and fun driven place with a flavour of traditional house and furnishing.nnBeing a kochiet it was not that excited about design ashram. But once I reached the location it was amazing and super. Very nice atmosphere in Gujarathi street. Awesome hospitality by the manager. Could not spend a day full. However I enjoyed the place.nncleanness of the wash room need to be improved drastically. Rest all very fine.nLove to be here multiple times. Probably this the 3rd back packers dom I liked very much after the Zostel Mysore, hostel by the sea - kochi.

+ Genuinely caring people who will do everything to help, I felt super safe as a solo female traveller even though the only dorm is mixed, clean, culturally rich with lots of events, great location close to good restaurants, spacious dormitory, opportunity to meet fellow Indian travellers.n- This is a place for sleep only as it lacks communal living space. It can get a bit hot in the dorm.nnCalicut is famous for the food and the locals are obsessed with eating good food. That does not seem feature in any travel books but I was glad that I stayed and explored the place. Calicut also has some of the best Kalari martial arts schools in Kerala, for those that way inclined. The autorickshaws run on the meter so no need for hagling and you wilk pay the same price as Indians at all the restaurants. It is definitely worth it spending a few days here just for the food alone. Thanks to the Design Ashram for the lovely hospitality.
